These books are born from the chaos and tenderness of fatherhood. They speak to dads trying to show up, even when they feel like they’re winging it. They’re books for kids who deserve to be seen, laughed with, and loved.
If you’re looking for childrens books in Canada that bring warmth, humour, and honesty into story time, you’re in the right place.
Children’s Books
by a Dad in Panic
One day, I noticed something unusual. One of the
only moments my son didn’t cry for mommy was
when I was reading to him.
And I thought, if it
works for me, maybe it works for other dads too.

So I leaned into what I do best:
Telling stories. I started writing children's books.
Books that help build bridges between fathers and their kids.
Books that turn five quiet minutes into real connection.
Books that make it a little easier to show up, especially when you're not sure how.
(And moms, you’re more than welcome to grab a copy. We’re not territorialists.)
Also, let’s be honest. Reading is one of the lowest-effort, highest-return ways to bond. You sit. You flip a page. You read a few words.
And just like that, you’re connecting. Almost no calories are spent.

The illustrations are so beautiful and the story kept us engaged the whole time. Really great concept about a kid getting pulled into his dad's phone to reconnect with him, perfect read for this generation. Would definitely recommend for parents dealing with screen time stuff! Meet the Dad Behind the Books
Hi, I’m the panicked dad in question.
By day, I’m a copywriter with experience at agencies like Ogilvy, DDB and Publicis.
By night, I’m a father doing his best to connect, often through stories and rough-and-tumble play.
Writing children’s books started as a way to bond with my son. But I soon realized the stories were doing more than that. They were helping me slow down, listen better and be present, even when I had no idea what I was doing.
If these books can offer other parents a moment of connection, a smile or a pause, they’ve already done their job.
